The second hybrid online and face-to-face meeting of the WilsonMed.eu project was held at the Children's Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw on 7 and 8 April 2024.

The morning of the first day was dedicated to presentations prepared for Polish patients by the WilsonMed - Poland teams, coordinated by Dr Piotr Socha, with a special intervention by Professor Anna Członkowska, an eminent neurologist and Wilson's disease specialist, member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the American Neurological Association, the German Neurological Society and member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

In the afternoon, representatives of patient advocacy organisations (PAOs) from France and Germany presented their experiences at the national and international levels. The Spanish organisation Asociación Española de Familiares y Enfermos de Wilson, which was invited to participate but is not yet part of the project, also provided commentary. The objective of the discussion was to identify strategies for patients to more effectively represent themselves at the national and international levels and within the WilsonMed project. The day concluded with a review of the role of patient organisations in the WilsonMed project.

The internal meeting was held on 8 April, during which the conclusions of the patient exchange and the actions needed to ensure the continuity of the project, from the point of view of the PAOs, were presented. A second part of the meeting was devoted to an update on the progress made by the various scientific teams on their respective sub-projects. The next general meeting will be held in Paris, France.
